The honest answer to can AI build this is now usually yes, or near enough. Which makes it a far less interesting question than it was two years ago.
The interesting question is what remains scarce. Not production. Not polish. What is scarce is knowing which problems are real, which audiences will actually pay attention, and which things are worth your name on them.
Abundance changes the economics
When something becomes abundant, its value falls and the value of whatever it depends on rises. Content became abundant, so attention became expensive. Now output is becoming abundant, so discernment is becoming the differentiator. The creators who win the next decade will not be the fastest producers. They will be the ones with the clearest filter.
A three-part test
Is the problem real, or merely plausible?
AI is extraordinarily good at generating plausible problems. Real ones have someone currently paying money, time or frustration to work around them.
Does this carry something only I can supply?
Your data, your access, your experience, your relationships, your taste. If the answer is none of those, anyone can generate the same thing tomorrow, and will.
Would I defend this in a room of people who know the subject?
Generated output is confident by default. Expertise is what stops confident from becoming wrong in public.
Use AI where it is genuinely strong
- Turning your existing material into new formats
- First drafts you intend to heavily rewrite
- Exploring options quickly before committing to one
- The tedious parts: structure, formatting, boilerplate, restatement
And be careful where it is weak: deciding what matters, knowing what your audience will not say out loud, and understanding the specific context you have spent years absorbing.
AI removed the excuse of I could not build it. It did not remove the responsibility of choosing well.
Fewer, better things
The temptation of cheap creation is volume. The opportunity is the opposite: use the speed to test more ideas, then commit properly to the small number that survive. Speed at the front of the process. Discipline at the end of it.
